Douglas has over 35 years’ experience working in industry. Most of this time was spent working in either strategy or corporate development roles within large organisations with significant international interests.  Organisations he has worked for include BT plc, ICI plc, Hoechst AG and BICC plc. 

 Douglas has been a Member of Tandridge Learning Trust since April 2022.   He joined the Trust shortly after completing the Financial Times Non-Executive Director Diploma.

 Douglas has a BEng in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College and an MBA from The University of Manchester.   He is a Fellow of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.

Douglas lives in Oxted with his wife, son and a large dog in the form of an Irish Wolfhound.  Outside of work he is an avid sports fan and a keen, but average, golfer.
