Cleaning up our local areas

All our schools decided to support the ‘Great Big School Clean’ organised by Keep Britain Tidy which ran from Friday 13th to Sunday 29th March.

Pupils and staff, and in some cases, parents, went out litter picking in their local public areas.  The Trust is very grateful to the Street Cleaning Team at Tandridge District Council, who supplied us with equipment to help the children pick litter, and they even let us keep it for future use!

Bletchingley was out in force with 25 children and 5 staff on Wednesday 25th March, picking litter up in Grange Meadow and in the local Community Garden.

Felbridge children went out on Thursday 26th March collecting litter in the park next to the school.

Hamsey Green Year 1s and Year 6s were out on Thursday 19th March picking litter up on the Limpsfield Road at Hamsey Green and around Hamsey Green Pond.

Hurst Green children were out during various lunchtimes throughout the period.

Tatsfield opted for Friday 20th March and covered the village area around the school.

Warlingham Community Reps went out collecting on two days; on Monday 16th March they covered Warlingham Green and Whyteleafe Park, and on Tuesday 24th March they did the hedges around Tithepit Shaw Lane, the pathways down to Whyteleafe Park and the corner of the common.  The students enjoyed it so much they want to continue to do it as a student leadership team on a termly basis.

Woodlea supported Woldingham’s Litter Pick on Saturday 14th March and the Eco Council went out on Thursday 19th March.

Well done to all of you!
