Headteacher (Woodlea) - Nina Gambier

Nina joined Woodlea as Headteacher in September 2022 having previously worked for six years at a local Outstanding school in Croydon, the last few as Deputy Head.  She started her teaching career in 1993 in Southwark where she worked in two schools, the latter as a senior leader before taking a break in 1999 to have her children.  Nina initially returned to teaching part time but as her children got older, returned to a full-time role taking on a senior leadership post in Croydon.

During her teaching career, Nina has been a subject leader for Science, Maths, English, Computing, PE and RE and has a particular passion for developing the curriculum within the primary phase.  In addition, in a previous school, she worked with local schools as the Assessment Lead and chaired the Assessment group.

Nina loves teaching, being with children and sharing her passion for learning. She has taught Reception to Year 6 and, despite many other responsibilities over the years, is always happiest in the classroom with children which is where she will sneak off to at every opportunity.

Nina has a BSc in Combined Science from the University of Leicester, which included History of Science, Computing and Astronomy and Psychology.  She also has a PGCE from the Institute of Education in London and a Diploma in Dyslexia and Special Needs.

Outside work, Nina likes to paint, read, run and spend time with her family.
